Experience
Grade 1: None.
Grade 2: A minimum of 10 years appropriate/recognisable nursing experience after registration with the SANC as Nursing Assistant.
Inherent requirement of the job: Willingness to work shifts, public holidays, after-hours, night duty and weekend cover.
Willingness to rotate to other departments.
Competencies (knowledge/skills): Ability to work independently and under pressure.
Good communication skills.
Duties
key result areas/outputs): Provide quality basic nursing care according to procedures and policy.
Assist patients with activities of daily living which includes patient hygiene, nutritional status, mobility and elimination needs.
Escort patient to and from x-rays, sonar, etc.
Assist professional nurses with clinical procedures and preparation of patients for diagnostic and surgical procedures.
Accurate recordkeeping and effective utilization of resources.
