Experience

Grade 1: None Grade 2: A minimum of 10 years’ appropriate/recognisable experience in nursing after registration as Staff Nurse with the SANC.

Grade 3: A minimum of 20 years appropriate/recognisable experience in nursing after registration as Staff Nurse with the SANC.

Inherent requirement of the job: Willingness to work shifts, night duty, including weekends, public holidays as well as overtime.

Willingness to rotate to other wards in the hospital and to work at the clinics in the Sub-district when needed.

Competencies (knowledge/skills): Good communication and interpersonal relationships.

Self-discipline and motivation.

Ability to interpret basic clinical signs and symptoms.

Knowledge of relevant legislation, policies and protocols of the Department of Health and Wellness, Western Cape.

Computer literate in Microsoft office programs (Excel and Word).

Ability to work in a team across the service platforms.

Duties

Provide basic clinical nursing care.

Effective utilization of resources.

Maintain professional growth /ethical standards and self- development.

Effective recordkeeping.

Participate in infection prevention and control.
