Experience

A minimum of 3 years appropriate experience as a dietitian after registration with the HPCSA as an Independent Practitioner.

Competencies (knowledge/skills): Expertise in the nutritional management of a variety of diagnoses, appropriate for an academic, multi-disciplinary hospital setting.

Human resource management and supervisory experience.

Good communication skills (both written and verbal).

Must have teaching and presentation skills.

Duties

Provide a comprehensive clinical service in assigned clinical areas.

Monitor, supervise, co-ordinate and develop the clinical service within the Dietetics department, to ensure optimal and appropriate patient care.

Render a support service to the head of the Dietetics Department.

Assist with the administrative and human resource management of the dietetics department.

Identify needs, manage and participate in professional training and development of knowledge and skills in the department.

Engage in student clinical training and related academic activities.
